Brent Bereavement Services

Volunteering

As a volunteer-based service, we offer individual counselling, in one of our counseling rooms or in the service user's home, on a regular weekly basis for an hour each week.

Please read the various pages on this site to ensure that you are comfortable with working with clients who may be suffering loss, trauma and other painful feelings.

We provide free regular group supervision to support our counsellors in this emotionally demanding work and expenses are offered to cover costs of possible telephone calls and travel expenses, and insurance for any work undertaken as a representative of the services.

We expect a full commitment to our various policies and safety measures, which include child and adult protection, equal opportunities, health & safety and our comprehensive code of practice. We also expect counsellors to have sensitivity, self-awareness, openness to the expression of strong and painful feelings, reliability and a commitment to confidentiality.

We attempt to be responsive to all the community and to ensure equality of treatment for all clients, staff and volunteers.

If you would like further details about becoming a volunteer or about the Service itself, please send us your CV and any relevant information by email or post.
