Bereavement Counselling

We offer individual counselling following a telephone assessment.

Sessions are provided by one of our trained & supervised Volunteer Counsellors by telephone or face to face for 50 minutes each on the same day and time each week over 12 weeks

Our counsellors are all trained in bereavement awareness and are given supervision to help them assist our clients effectively.  Supervision also provides support for the counsellors' own emotional well being and professional development, whilst maintaining quality control of our service provision

The process from the initial referral to allocation to one of our counsellors can take between 4 days to 4 weeks, as it depends on the client's needs and availability.

We ask all clients to read and agree to a contract to safeguard clients, counsellors and our services
at the start of sessions.

We also ask that clients complete a short questionnaire at the first and final session for us to monitor and evaluate our service provision, whilst maintaining full client confidentiality.

We can offer counselling in over 12 languages, as we aim to meet the needs of our diverse community.

We are strongly committed to diversity, equality and inclusion, so we always aim to meet the needs of all in our community regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, ability & age.

All our counsellors are DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) checked.

As a small charity with have limited resources, so we welcome donations to maintain our services operational. Each sessions costs an average of £35. Donations can be made online via our website, on the Local Giving website or you can request our bank details for direct transfers or direct debits
from our administrator.

Professionalism is key to the services we provide, we are pleased to work to ethical standards set by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.
